We are a small
business operating primarily in Northwestern Oregon, from Eugene to Portland.
We have one registered Professional Land Surveyor, Tyler Parsons, who is
personally involved in all aspects of our projects, and heads our two person
crew. Tyler is registered as a Land Surveyor in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho,
and ss a Certified Water Rights Examiner in Oregon.
Construction
surveys have ranged from simple house layouts all the way up to complete
building, utility, and site control and layout for a five story office building
in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Construction projects in 1999 include two apartment
complexes in East Portland, and two retail store complexes in Beaverton
Our survey
equipment consists of a TOPCON GTS-4, 2 second electronic total station,
capable of measuring distances electronically out to approximately 2 miles. We
also have a TOPCON G TS-802 Robotic Station, capable of one person surveying by
control from the traverse of stakeout position. We utilize a Tripod Data
Systems RECON data collector. Data is downloaded using TDS software, and most
survey calculations and drafting is performed using Spectra Precision's
Terramodel. Terramodel can directly import engineering and architectural
drawings in AutoCAD drawing format (.DWG) up to Version 2007, and export in
Version 2000 format. We utilize this feature to produce boundary and
topographic surveys in electronic format for use by architects and engineers in
the design of a building site, and use the electronic version of their plans to
develop the data for staking the site for the contractor.
In addition to providing surveying services to the public, Tyler has also
been an assistant instructor for the Spring and Fall "Workshops in
Surveying" at Oregon State University, teaching the one-day Public Land
Survey System course, and team teaching the Fundamentals Review, the Oregon Law
I Workshop, and the Coordinate Workshop. He has been involved in these
workshops since 1985.
As of March 2007, Tyler is a Certified Federal Surveyor (CFedS), qualified
to perform federally authorized surveys on Indian tribal lands, and holds
certificate No. 1001.
